Iain writes concert music in the classical tradition. Most of his work is based on some aspect of time, the medium in which music happens. It doesn’t represent programmatic ideas: instead it explores memory, and tries to make listeners notice the ways in which time passes.
What does Iain’s music sound like? Reviewers have said “...hard-edged...”, “...the evolution of full-blown lyricism from fragmentary notes...”, “...sounding like tree-frogs...”. But describing music is no substitute for the real thing; the samples on the “Sounds” page will let you make up your own mind.
